From Frank Lane

Mac Dressler's Gun Cabinet

A Larry Morse sideboard from plans in Wood Magazine.  Nice photography to go with the fine woodworking!

"I used quarter-sawn red oak.  I got it in rough form from Liberty Hardwoods.  The plans were great.  The only change I made was to make the top 1 inch thick, rather than ¾.  I used Danish Oil finish, covered with polyurethane.  I worked on this about 6 months, total, with a about a 2-month break in the middle."

Doug Buell writes that his table is from a plan from Woodsmith Magazine (left)

The cherry and maple table is also from a Woodsmith plan. (Center) (Where's Waldo?)

Doug designed and made the mahogany box for a friend who wanted to raise their television.  (Right)

Russ Amos' Intarsia Headboard was featured at the February 2008 Woodworking Show.  Another view of the bed can be found by clicking here.

Bill Johnston created the bookcase and matching bench for his brand new grandson from sketches created by his son-in-law and around baskets chosen by his daughter.  The cushion was designed and completed by the baby's aunt.  A team effort all around!  The baskets can be used for baby items early on and later to store toddler toys.

Bill's biggest challenge was finishing the oak to match a baby bed that the parents had already purchased made of an unknown oriental wood that had an appearance of stained oak.
