Special Interest Groups (SIG)
A Special
Interest Group may consist of a
small group (usually) of members who share a particular machine, or area
of endeavor such as Using Hand Tools, who
would like to get together, talk
shop, and further their special interest. Attending
a SIG is also a fast track way to learn from fellow members who bring their
experiences to share.
An ideal group would consist
of several members, some of whom would
like to learn more about and share their special interest, some who are
beginners, and hopefully a mentor with expertise in the special interest.
Hand Tool
Special Interest Group was formed with their first organizational meeting on
July 26, 2009. If you are interested in the Hand Tool Special Interest
Group please go to the Hand Tool SIG web
page. The Hand Tool SIG meets at the shop on the fourth Sunday of the month
unless otherwise announced.
Following Arnold Baker's presentation at the August 2009 Guild
meeting CNC Woodworking Special
Interest Group explores the world of CNC woodworking or metalworking
machinery with those interested in building, buying and using CNC
controlled tools. The CNC Special Interest Group now meets
regularly on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm at the KCWWG shop.
The
Shopsmith SIG will consist of
people with an interest in acquiring, using, tuning, and getting the most
out of their Shopsmith Mark V and related accessories.
