Spoke Shaves and Drawknives

The regular monthly meeting (4th Sunday) of the Hand Tool Special Interest Group was held Sunday, October 25th at 2:00 P.M.

 The topic of the meeting, decided by the group, was Spoke Shaves and Draw Knives.  Participants brought along their Spoke Shaves and Draw Knives to stimulate discussion and to demonstrate and use. 

 This month's demonstration was lead by Kevin Brennan, member and owner of Kansas City Windsor Tool Works. Kevin is a maker of high quality spokeshaves, blades, beaders, & parts.  You may recall that Kevin participated with past President, Mike Jones, in the July program on the Majestic Theater Handrail Restoration.

Kevin brought a number spokeshaves, drawknives, and similar tools.  Kevin demonstrated and discussed tools mostly related to chairmaking.

Member, Glen Ferguson, will also brought a number of spokeshaves, some uncommon and allowed participants to used the tools.
