Build Your Own Home Office Furniture - A home office area is  a common requirement for those of you who can do your job from home one or more days a week. Some times we make do with “loaned” steel furniture from the office which rarely fits the home decor.

How about building your own home office furniture?

A recent book, Build Your Own Home Office Furniture, by Danny Proulx and published by Popular Woodworking Books is an excellent guide to building a complete office of furniture. The book has 13 step-by-step projects ranging from desks and bookcases to file cabinets. There is a chapter on making a built-in “office in a closet”.

You can also build a complete office, including space for a personal computer, in an armoire. My favorites are the writing desk of walnut in chapter 13 and the standup desk of ash in chapter 14. The plans and description of the building processes in this book are very well done and easy to follow.
